Junior Youth Groups Coordinators

Tasks for the Junior Youth Groups Coordinator (JYGC)

The junior youth coordinator promotes the progress of local junior youth study circles in the cluster they have been assigned to serve. They will work closely with the Cluster Institute Coordinator, as well as the Children’s Class Coordinator, and where there is an Area Teaching Committee, will also work closely with that body.

  • Gain personal experience by serving as a junior youth animator.
  • Keep a record of how many junior youth groups are running in the cluster, who is teaching them, the names, ages and localities of the junior youth, and whether or not they are registered as Bahá’ís.
  • Organise ‘animator gatherings’ – periodic meetings (3-4 times per year) for animators to share experiences and learning, enhance their skills, and to encourage the multiplication of local junior youth groups.
  • Attend occasional meetings arranged by the Coordinator for England, intended to enhance the skills of the Cluster Coordinators (usually twice per year).
  • Represent the Training Institute Board for England at any local meeting in which a Junior Youth Coordinator is required, eg Cluster Reflection meetings, inter-institutional meetings.
  • Report on all of the above to the Coordinator for England, and keep in regular contact to share learning.
  • Alongside the Cluster Institute Coordinator and Children’s Class Coordinator, promote the need for all adult believers to apply for their CRB disclosure, and ensure that only those with clearance are involved in junior youth groups.
  • Arrange for animator trainings in your cluster, to constantly increase the number of animators.
